“Tinker with IoT (Internet of Things)” – Two (2) days inspiring & interactive workshop with hands on experience to students on IoT (Internet of Things) using Design thinking process by Senthil Kumar, Researcher & Innovator (Samsung, Qualcomm, Stanford University), for School Students from Grade 5 to Grade 12. Learn how to reuse an old computer or router to build the IoT products to solve real world problem. The students will learn basics of Design thinking methodology and to identify the real world problem. They will be learning architecture of Internet of things, protocol stack, interfacing sensors with controllers.
This is part of series of knowledge sessions that would be offered to students through B’Hub on various upcoming, future technologies. It’s highly important to give our kids, the exposure to the technologies of future and they become ambassadors of better application of technologies and drive them solve real world problems.
Future is all about specialised skillsets to fit to new jobs. Its an age of uncertainty due to technological advancements, where most of the redundant jobs will be replaced by automation. Hence future is about new jobs.
Don’t worry! This is happening from the days of steam engines as well! When it was invented in the late 1700s, people believed its arrival signaled the end of manual labor and thousands of hardworking individuals would be out of jobs. Instead, the steam engine created completely new jobs in new industries like railway systems and high-productivity factories. While the steam engine did eliminate some manual labor jobs, it created new jobs like machine operators, engineers and maintenance workers.
The same is going to happen again! So it’s about preparing our children for the future.
Why IoT (Internet of Things)
Many industry experts and excited consumers have pegged The Internet of Things (IoT) as the next Industrial Revolution or the Next Internet.
Why? Because it will be the future of the way businesses, governments, and consumers interact with the physical world.
Make your child #Future Ready
Make your child #Future Ready – Workshop Series for Students @ B’Hub is an initiative for preparing our kids for the future. It’s highly important to understand the jobs of future and get them the basic skills right from their early stage.
Eventually, the Internet of Things will lead to widespread replacement of simple and repetitive jobs in areas such as manufacturing, administration, quality control and planning. But more importantly, IoT will lead to the creation of new jobs that will help organizations champion and pioneer not only their personal success with IoT, but the success of the business as well.
