Shri. Pinarayi Vijayan Chief Minister of Kerala.
A graduate from Government Brennen College at Thalassery. Took active leadership role in state units of Kerala Students Federation and Youth Federation, before entering the parliamentary arena.
Pinarayi Vijayan became a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly five times; in 1970, 1977, 1991 from Koothuparamba, in 1996 from Payyannur and in 2016 from Dharmadom.
His administrative acumen and experience as a well grounded politician who understood the needs of people, helped him in introducing various revolutionary initiatives in the state’s co-operative sector. Under his supervision, the State Government has successfully mobilised resources and involved public participation so far.
Mr Vijayan has reiterated the need for prompt disposal of business at cutting-edge levels, as also the need for discipline in government offices. The Pinarayi Vijayan government has spelt out its vision and missions clearly, and delineated an action plan to achieve declared objectives within its current tenure. The plan is ambitious and comprehensive, targeting total housing, better healthcare and quality education apart from a Green Kerala Mission for total sanitation, waste management, agricultural development and water resources conservation.
During his political life spanning over five decades, Mr.Pinarayi Vijayan has excelled in all organisational and parliamentary responsibilities entrusted with him.
